For the Dyson College community, the summer season presents an opportunity for reflection and rejuvenation, allowing us to take a moment to look back on the academic achievements of the past year and to relax and recharge for the year ahead.

In May we celebrated in a big way, with our first in-person Commencement since 2019 (and my first at Pace!), which included graduates from the Classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022. This issue includes a recounting of that joyous day at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, where both campus communities celebrated as one for the first time along with the members of the Dyson community who were recognized for their exceptional achievements with university and college-level awards.

Also in this issue, Ashley Davis ’22 and Rossana Rosado ’83 both have cause for celebration, as doctoral student Davis discusses her prestigious selection as a Minority Fellow for the National Board of Certified Counselors and Rosado talks about her new role as commissioner of the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services. Notably, they both recognize the importance of self-care and work/life balance.

As you take that all-important time to recharge this summer, we’ve given you a great line up to consider with a variety of series that our Dyson alumni are starring in to add to your streaming queue. I know what I’ll be watching this summer!

I hope you all find the time to relax and enjoy yourself over the summer. If you have news you wish to share with the Dyson Community, please contact Angela Nally ’99, ‘06, assistant dean for communications, at agnally@pace.edu.

Sincerely,
Tresmaine R. Grimes, PhD
