Dean’s Message: Spring 2024

woman in front of fountainGo further. Go boldly.

We’ve chosen these words as our tagline because they truly embody the spirit of the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences. We empower our students to strive for goals beyond what they’ve imagined, and we equip them with the skills and experiences to get there. We encourage our students to show up in the world as their authentic selves, and we embolden them with opportunities to broaden their horizons, expand their minds, and cultivate community.

This notion lives in everything we do. The tagline appears in our new Dyson College of Arts and Sciences anthem video included in this issue, and its essence echoes in each of the pieces featured. From students and faculty partnering on momentous cancer research to immersive experiences in arts and media, the Dyson community continues to boldly push past the ordinary into the extraordinary.

And the spirit extends to our alumni, who embrace their Dyson education as a springboard to meaningful careers and impactful lives. In this issue, we meet Betsy Lawrence ’95, PsyD, who jumped at the opportunity to create a community, founding the New York School of the Arts. She’s one of so many examples of alumni who embody the Dyson spirit, and I so enjoy hearing each and every story.

Wherever you are on your path, I encourage you to go further and go boldly.

If you have news you wish to share with the Dyson Community, please contact Angela Nally ’99, ‘06, assistant dean for communications, at anally@pace.edu.

Sincerely,
Tresmaine R. Grimes, PhD
